The Butterflies are settling into school life well. We have had such a busy week learning our sounds m, a, s and d, counting to 10 and back and exploring new activities in our outside area. On Tuesday we went into our Harvest celebration and sang some lovely songs. We also wrote thank you prayers for all the food we love to eat. We have some very healthy children whose favourites include apples, carrots and bananas! We really enjoyed looking at the Abacus Active Learn homework together and the children are very keen to get started earning coins to start using the rewards. Here are a few of our favourite bits...
We went out to the trim trail to do some sketching in our brand new Art Books. We are looking forward to adding to them as our adventures continue.
We have been making ramps for our cars in the playground using crates and guttering. It has been great fun seeing how fast they shoot down. The children have been really thinking about how to balance the guttering to make tall and long ramps.
We have also been exploring gloop (cornflour and water.) The children have enjoyed feeling how the texture changes. They were making some amazing observations of how it changed with comments like, "It's like snow melting, it's hard and then it goes like water!"
The children enjoyed creating an assault course using the balance blocks and crates. It was brilliant to see them working together and taking turns.
Well done Butterflies! More learning fun to come next week...
