We have been very creative this week in Butterflies. We have started doing transient art. Sounds posh but is actually using bits and bobs from nature to make fabulous pictures of mini beasts. The children have really enjoyed letting their imaginations run wild and created some wonderful pictures of butterflies, bugs, worms and lots more! We have also been dancing in our outside area. The children loved using the ribbons and pompoms to respond to the music. Inside we listened to 'The flight of the bumble bee' and drew the path the bee took. Some of us also drew the little bees visiting the flowers. In maths we have been thinking about doubling and halving. The children have been practising using bricks, cubes and pebbles. They are pretty good at it now! It is so lovely to see how much the children are taking responsibility for their own learning. Lots of gem powers are being used!
