This week we went on our first welly walk around Westbury. The Butterflies were very well behaved and walked nicely holding hands with their partners. We enjoyed looking for patterns along the way and even spotted quite a few numbers!
We have been thinking about patterns in our maths this week. We have been using all sorts of different things to make repeating patterns. On Wednesday we used fruit to make pattern kebabs. It was great fun and pretty delicious at the end when we got to eat them!
On Thursday we made repeating patterns using musical instruments and then put on a show for Ladybirds and Mrs Huxham. Mrs Macfarlane was our conductor. We were really good at following the pattern.
Once we got the music bug we were very excited to start using our new stage area. We have been experimenting with some new songs and taking it in turns to be the conductor.
Next week we are going to be thinking about birthdays. Another week of exciting learning for the Butterfly class!
