This week was very hot but it didn't put the children off being very busy with their learning. We have been exploring measure and have been finding out about how long, heavy or full things are. The children have been working in pairs to carry out their investigations. It was so lovely to see them listening to each others' ideas and thinking of ways to record their results. The capacity investigation was a clear favourite on Wednesday as it involved water! Always good on the hottest day of the year! We took the opportunity to talk about how we keep our bodies healthy in the sun and the children were fabulous at drinking plenty of water, wearing their hats and staying in the shade. They really enjoyed making fans to cool themselves and their friends down and even the adults enjoyed trying them out.
Next Thursday is our Sports Day, fingers crossed for the weather, so we have been out on the Junior's field practising our races. The children were brilliant and I think it will be lots of fun showing off our skills to our parent's next week.
