This week the children have been thinking about 1 more and 1 less in Maths. We have used all sorts of things to help us work out our answers from our number lines to frogs and fluffy pompoms! We are all getting quite good at it now! We also got the water tray out and started thinking about full and empty. We also noticed the numbers on the side of the jugs. A great start to capacity which we'll be thinking more about next week.
We have also been thinking about travelling to the seaside. We watched 'Magic Granddad' and he showed us how people in years gone by travelled. It was very interesting to see horses and carriages, very different from the coach we went in last week! The children have then been inspired to make trains, buses and cars from the big wooden bricks. Thy then started to design some castles. Sand castles have really captured their imagination. We even had one that was bigger than Mrs Macfarlane! Great to see the children working together and talking through their ideas.
Basil and Pepper have been enjoying the sunshine too. They have been having chats with the children while they enjoy their carrots and cauliflower leaves. The children are very good at keeping an eye on their furry friends.
