The children have been working really hard this week, despite all of the exciting Christmas distractions that are beginning to appear around the school! They have been experiencing different kinds of measures in Maths, as well as looking at scales. This is a lovely area of Maths which you can support your children with at home, such as by measuring ingredients and making delicious cakes, looking at capacity at bath time with empty bottles and jugs and even talking about how tall they are all getting!
The children are doing really well to learn our nativity play, 'Christmas With the Aliens'. We can tell that those who have words to remember have been trying hard to practice them at home- keep up the good work everybody! Parents and special people from home...... you certainly have a treat in store!
Please can we remind you to write a quick comment in your child's reading diary when you hear them read at home. If you are struggling to get your child to read their reading book maybe read a recipe together, a newspaper or magazine article, a library book, a favourite story from home, or even the Argos toy guide- anything that might grab their attention and encourage them to have a go at reading. We ask that you try to hear your child read 4 times a week. If they are able to do this, as well as completing their other pieces of homework, we will reward them with a homework sticker. Dolphins are aiming to win the homework trophy by being the class who have the most children completing their homework, but they do need your help to do this. Thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions about homework, please do not hesitate to come in and speak to us.
