This week in Science we learnt about the fire triangle. We found out that fire needs three things to burn; fuel, oxygen and heat. We tested this by lighting three tea lights and placing three different sized jars over the top to see which one ran out of oxygen first. The children were brilliant at predicting which one would and then explaining what happening. We try to encourage the children to tell how or why they think something using full sentences. They are getting really good at this now.
On Tuesday afternoon we made our shadow puppets using the materials we had investigated last week. The children looked carefully at their designs and made strong puppets. Some children even added detail using binka for spots or cellophane for colour.
On Friday we had a magical day as the school had been decorated overnight with tress, lights and tinsel. We also have a new member of our class to add some extra festive magic, Berries our class kindness elf. Some of the children made her a Magic Fairy Elf cottage during our Sparkle Time. It was lovely to see them working together to make all the detail. Berries loved her new place! We are looking forward to taking on her kindness challenges over the next few weeks as we prepare for Christmas.
