This week as part of our 'On the farm' topic, and as we celebrated harvest this week, we looked at the work of Giuseppe Acrimboldo. He was an artist who worked over 500 years ago on paintings where he made people and faces from fruit and vegetables. The children loved looking at the pictures he made and then had a wonderful time creating their own. We were really proud of their results!
We have also been thinking about 2D shape and symmetry this week. The children are getting really good at describing shapes using their properties. We hope that they use this knowledge to help with their homework this week. We have also been sorting using Venn and Carroll diagrams. The children worked really hard on this. We have sorted by shape, colour and properties.
We finished te week in the ICT suite. The children have been starting to use the search engine to find pictures which they then copied and pasted into a word document. It was a bit tricky but they worked in pairs and there was some great Topaz powers being used to help and support each other.
Looking forward to another great week of learning next week!
