You can count on the Honey Bees to try hard with learning. Remember on Monday 16th parents are welcome in for our Marvellous Me Celebraation.
We have now been in school for nearly a term. During the time in school we have done a lot of learning. Our time has included our visit to Bath, Explorer Walks and learning about recycling with Wiltshire Wildlife.

It was a busy week in Honey Bees class. We have been making repeating patterns in Maths and continued to learn our speed sounds. One of the highlights was when Gemma, from Wiltshire Wildlife to teach us about recycling and reusing our rubbish. Afterwards we were able to make animal masks, using scrap material.
Last week we went to The Victoria Art Gallery, in Bath. The children were wonderful and did great self-portraits. Here are some of the photographs,
On Friday 22nd of September, the Foundation Stage children went on their first school visit (after only 3 weeks in school), to Bath. Photographs will follow shortly, but firstly we would like to say how fantastic the children were. The trip to the Victoria Art Gallery and picnic in the Parade Garden will be the first of many trips during the children's school lives and I am sure this will be remembered. A big thank you to all you helped with the trip out.
This week Honey Bees stayed all day for the first time and have been amazing. They have been busy learning the routines, learning through play and have been making new friends. It was great to give out Ruby Gems for children showing kindness to others.
The teachers have continued to do Baseline assessments, to find out what the children can do and plan the learning experiences for the year ahead. The children have enjoyed sharing the big books, are keen to take their reading books home and are keen to join in with counting songs.
On Monday there will be no school for the children, as it is a teacher development day.
On Friday will be our first school visit, to The Victoria Art Museum, Bath, which we are looking forward to.

Wow! Our first week in Honey Bees has come to an end. The children have made a fantastic start to the year. They have been so busy getting used to their new classroom. It has been great to begin to get to know the children.

If you have any queries please do come and see me. Next week the children will have a new reading record and book which needs to come to school each day. If you haven't yet brought in a PE kit then please do so next week. The children have been wearing their slippers in class, please would you ensure that their shoes have been named as it can get quite confusing!
A reminder that from next week the children will be staying all day. The school day ends at 3:05pm.
