Year Two had an amazing trip to the Toy Museum in Trowbridge today.
We caught the train bright and early to Trowbridge and after a quick play in the park, we made our way to the Toy Museum. We had lots of fun playing old fashioned games, making masks and finding out about toys from the past.
After lunch we headed over to the Town Hall and had a look at the cells. We had great fun pretending to be prisoners from years ago although, we were all on out best behaviour!
We have had great fun so far this term learning about toys for our new topic 'The Magic Toymaker'.
We brought in our favourite toys last week to share with our friends and we used them to complete some fantastic descriptive writing and detailed pencil drawing. It was wonderful to look at the toys that our friends play with and some children's toys were even older than they are!
This week we have started to create some fantastic pop art in the style of Andy Warhol. We have made stencils of our favourite toys and started to experiment with different materials to make our artwork bright and colourful.
Keep your eyes peeled for photos of our finished artwork :)
