This week we have been learning about life on board a pirate ship and the different jobs that pirates would have had. We decided that it would have been pretty tough being a pirate as conditions on board the ship were awful. We wrote factual sentences about the different jobs and then decided which jobs we thought we would most like to do. Most of us wanted to be the Captain (the one in charge), the Quarter Master (the one who shared out the treasure and punished naughty pirates), the Master Gunner (the one in charge of the ship's weapons) or the Carpenter and Surgeon (the one responsible for repairing the ship and chopping off infected limbs!). We pretended to be pirates and wrote about our work on board the ship through a diary entry which we shared with our friends in Owls class.
The maths homework for this week is a problem solving activity which will be handed out on Monday (apologies for not handing it out today!).
