This week, we have been working extremely hard in Science to learn how the billions of animals on our amazing planet can be grouped into one of the following categories:
We were able to sort photographs quickly into the right categories, demonstrating a good understanding of the characteristics of each group of animal. Humans belong to the mammal category because we are hairy, drink milk, have live babies and are warm blooded.
In DT, we have had fun designing a scarecrow that will protect the seeds we have planted in our planting box. We were given a product brief and thought carefully about the different materials we could use. We decided that the materials will need to be strong, weather-proof and tied carefully to the scarecrow frame with wire or string. Sticky tape will not be suitable for this project! We are looking forward to making our scarecrows this week, so look out for our photographs! We will use the camera tool on our i-pads to document the making process.
