We have had a fantastic adventure this week pretending to be pirates for our school trip. Our adventures started once we were aboard the Matthew. We sailed up the river learning about Blackbeard, the notorious pirate from Bristol and we pretended to fire the cannons at oncoming boats as if we were real pirates.
Then we went to the M Shed where we learnt about voyagers and travelling across the seas. We found out about all the different jobs on board a ship and had a go at tying knots, mending sails, calking the decks and rolling up ropes to keep the decks tidy. We then explored different boxes of artefacts from boats and guessed what jobs they would have been used for.
We all had a lovely day and learnt a great deal!
Our Abacus homework for this week is called Bingo! As always, if you have any problems getting onto it, please don't hesitate to pop in and speak to us.
