This week we have been using our amazing trip to the farm to further develop our learning. We started the week by writing sentences about our favourite parts of the trip and it was great to see that all the children were excited to write and tell others about their experiences. They wrote about the fun they had feeding the different animals, collecting the eggs, climbing into the 500 year old tree, running through the different fields and splashing in the stream!
We have also been looking at photographs taken on the farm and worked together to sort them into human and physical features. The children were really good at working together and discussing their ideas about the impact that humans have on the farm.
The children are really beginning to take more responsibility for their independent learning and are trying more of the Rainbow Challenges. This week they have made models of farm animals using dough, mapped out and made their own farms using Lego, played a game with friends, developed their understanding of number bonds to 10 and practised their cutting skills.
Next Tuesday we will be celebrating our Harvest Assembly. Any donations of tins would be gratefully received.
