Welcome to year 1. It is lovely to be back.
The children have had a very busy week, settling into new routines, new teachers and being based in a different area of the school. It is a lot to get used to but we have been very impressed with how the children have settled and shown such a great attitude to leaning.
This week we have been learning all about our class animal. We have been trying to draw rabbits as well as labelling different parts of rabbits too. In our writing we have been trying to write in full sentences using our sounds and remembering to leave finger spaces between words to make it easier to read.
We have got a very special class rabbit mascot, which the children have named Roley. Roley rabbit will be coming home with different children each week and we would very much like it if he could come out and about with you wherever you go. We would then like the children to write, draw or even take some pictures about Roleys lovely adventures to keep as a diary that they can share with the class the following week. Please return Roley after the weekend ready for someone else to take him on more adventures the next week.
Friday 15th September at 2.30pm Meet the teacher.
Please come along to our meet the teacher afternoon where you can find out a little more about class routines, expectations and how best we can work together to help your children to become happy, confident and successful learners. We look forward seeing you all then.
