 More Magnificent Measuring

This week we have continued having lots of fun learning about measuring.  Last week we learnt how to measure length wit a ruler and this week we have been measuring the mass of an object- finding our how heavy or light it is and the volume of a container- the amount of space that an object occupies in a container  such as full and empty.

Looking Closely Scientifically

This week in science we have been learning to look closely at fruits and vegetables that we could grow in our gardens or school.  We have drawn in detail a number of different fruits or vegetables and have noticed how some plants grow from seeds and others from bulbs.  We had fun planting chitty potatoes and have thought about what plants need to help them to grow.  The story of the tiny seed by Eric Carle is a lovely story to read that explains the journey of a seed through the seasons.
