MESSY MOD ROC!

We have had a lovely time this week learning about Sculptures and looking at the work of the famous Sculptor Barbara Hepworth.  We then began to practice the technique of moulding to create a tree.  First we needed to scrunch and roll the paper to create the stem and then cover it in tape to make it waterproof.  After that we took strips of Mod Roc, dipped it into water and moulded it around our structure.  It dries quite quickly.  We then repeated the process to make some branches.  The following day we then designed our landscape drawing on our previous visit to the white horse for inspiration and created our own version of a hilly landscape.  We had lots of fun and whilst we tried to work carefully and wore aprons unfortunately we did get rather messy! Sorry grown ups for our messy uniform.  Next week we will add the finishing touches to our designs.
