Friday 4th March

Dragonflies have had an amazing week packed full of experiences. It all started on Tuesday when the children listened to the story ‘Mr Wolf’s Pancakes’. Inspired by Mr Wolf the children helped to make their very own pancakes and were very helpful unlike Mr Wolf’s friends. The children enjoyed eating their pancakes served with sugar and a squeeze of lemon.

Dragonflies Pancakes

Thursday was world book day and what a wonderful day it turned out to be. We began with a catwalk parade so the children could show off their amazing costumes. Then we had the opportunity to work with a fantastic dance teacher who helped the children learn a routine linked to the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ We finished the day by performing the children's stories.

Dragonflies Book day

We had some lovely weather for a trip to Caen Hill Countryside Centre. The children got to meet Mo, Marlene and lots of other animals. The children pretended to be farmers in the barn and got to feed the different animals. They had the opportunity to hold baby lambs and got to see an emu’s egg which the farm will help to hatch. We had lunch on the hay bales and had fun in the forest school area. The children made houses for the insects to live in and then got to dig for worms and hunt for different minibeasts. It was a great day out and a great start to our topic of All Creatures great and small.
