The children had a wonderful time visiting the Sculpture Park in Salisbury.  We were able to see up close a complete variety of different sculptures.  We looked at the different scale of the pieces of art, some big others small.  We looked at the different materials that had been used to create them.  We thought about if they showed something real or if they were more abstract.  We had time to sketch the sculptures and create the different textures we could see.  We linked the sculptures to the work of Augusta Savage that we have been learning about and thought about the similarities and differences in the sculptures we could see, we also talked about the ones we liked and disliked and why.  Overall we had a very enjoyable day and the children learnt a lot about what sculptures are.
