Welcome to Firefly Class

Hello!

Welcome to Firefly Class. What a week it has been. The children have been fantastic and have settled into the routines of being Year 2 and the new school day brilliantly. There have been some wobbles along the way, however, the children know that if they have any problems, the grown ups in the classroom are there to help them. Please be rest assured it's not just the children that have had these!

You may have been told about the new behaviour gems and the school values. These underpin anything we do. Firefly class have been so amazing the jar is quickly filling up!

In class this week we have begun our topic on plants. We explored the school grounds looking at different plants and flowers. As part of the learning we were really lucky to have a visit from a local gardener. She showed us some of her lovely plants and how they grew from seeds. We then investigated the different seeds and bulbs. 

In Maths we have been revising our place value skills and the value of each digit in a 2-digit number.
