Sea Turtle's Blog (YR) 2021

Welcome to the our blog!  We hope to share all the wonderful things that we are learning about in YR.
Our Class Teacher is Miss Jones. Our teaching assistants are Ms Grieve. Miss Adlam will be helping with interventions across the year group.                                      Here is our exciting  Curriculum Map 2020-21

  • Friday 16 April 2021 April 16th Hello to children and their families First, hello to the Sea Turtles. I hope you have enjoyed your holiday and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
  • Friday 26 March 2021 March 26th Sea Turtles This week Sea Turtles have been counting objects in and out of the class. The children have been learning to count on from 5 and using ten frames. We counted with toys, fruit and natural objects. Children have been showing their counting by drawing pictures and writing numbers. This is something that they can practise at home.
  • Sunday 21 March 2021 21st March Happy birthday Sea Turtels Happy birthday to Josh who is 5 today and Natalia who celebrated in the week.
  • Friday 19 March 2021 Friday 19th March Sea Turtles shapes Hello everyone. This week Sea Turtles have been learning about 3D shapes and creating repeating patterns. Thank you to those who sent in pictures of 3D shapes at home.
  • Sunday 14 March 2021 March 14tth Sea Turtles First week back! As I have previously said it was wonderful to have all the Sea Turtles back together last week. In this news feed you are given a glimpse of our learning and celebrations. 
  • Sunday 14 March 2021 March 14th Celebrating Sea Turtles in our class. Now we are back together Miss Jones has created a new area in our class to celebrate the actions of our class.  It is fantastic to celebrate Ruby's sketch, presented in our celebration assembly and Isla's story from home. There is also a book so we can catch each others acts of Ruby kindness and or trying hard  in class. 
  • Sunday 14 March 2021 March 14th Sea Turtles 3D shapes at home Ahead of our shape work  in the week ahead the first Sea Turtles have taken up the challenge to find 3D shapes at home. Thanks for the pictures of spheres, cubes and cuboids in everyday objects. Playing with bubbles was a fun activity to find out about shapes. 
  • Friday 12 March 2021 March 12th Sea Turtles are back together It was really good to welcome the Sea Turtles back this week. The children have had a busy week learning in school.  Thank you for the animal pictures sent in.  We have been learning to talk about our pets, describing them and thinking about what they like.
  • Monday 8 March 2021 Welcome back and a big thanks to all mums It was so good to see all the Sea Turtles back together today. I was very proud of the way they all came back. As today is International Women's Day I wanted to give a big shout out to all mums who supported your children with the remote learning.
  • Thursday 4 March 2021 March 4th Sea Turtles Celebration of learning It has been fantastic to receive so many photographs of your learning at home. I have had so many it is hard to choose. But I have selected a few, before we come back together. Here is a celebration of Sea Turtles and a big thank you to their parents.
  • Thursday 4 March 2021 March 4th Sea Turtles World Book Day It was great to get pictures of some Sea Turtles with books they enjoy. We look forward to celebrating our own book day later on.
  • Wednesday 3 March 2021 March 3rd Sea Turtles Showcasing films Joshua has made some films on his camera and he wanted to showcase them.  After planning a maze and drawing it on the ground, with mum he made a You tube channel.
  • Tuesday 2 March 2021 2nd March Terrific Tuesday Well done Sea Turtles for your continued learning.  It was wonderful to see that in the last couple of days 13 children have used Reading Eggs,  6 of you have read on Reading Eggspress and 12 more have been on Mathseeds. 
  • Saturday 27 February 2021 26th February Sea Turtles Weekly round up Well done Sea Turtles for the fantastic effort put in this week with learning at home or in the key worker group.
  • Friday 26 February 2021 February 26th Sea Turtles Potato printed chicks This week we have been learning about animals and their babies. Thank you for this art work, Potato Printed Chicks, I hope it encourages others to have a go. 
  • Thursday 25 February 2021 25th February A celebration of writing and being creative Today we celebrate the work of children who have worked hard with their reading and writing. Also, thank you Ceiran and his mum for sharing their creativity with skittles, making a pattern with the sweets. It was good to see potato printed chicks taking shape, I look forward to see when they are complete. I hope this inspires everyone to keep on going. 
  • Wednesday 24 February 2021 24th February Wonderful Wednesday Well done Sea Turtles for your continued efforts with learning. 14 children have used Reading Eggs and 10 have been on Mathseeds this week. I hear Niko did great reading today, using Oxford Reading Owl, choosing My Pet Fish, well done.
  • Tuesday 23 February 2021 February 23rd Terrific Tuesday Well done all of the Sea Turtles who have been doing their reading and maths today.  I can see that lots of you used Reading Eggs and Mathseeds. Thank you for those that came to assembly. It was great to get a picture afterwards of Darcie's line went walking, created to Dance Monkey.  I hope you enjoyed the music today everyone.
  • Tuesday 23 February 2021 23rd February Welcome to term 4 Hello Sea Turtles. Welcome to term 4. As you know the next 2 weeks we are continuing to learn at home or in a key worker group before we come back together. Keep trying hard and sending in your pictures. Thank you for those who joined for Monday's assembly, remember the next is today at 12:30, followed my your music time.  Take a look at some more pictures from half term and learning yesterday, when we had creative ways to make ten frames.

  • Thursday 11 February 2021 11th February 2021 End of a busy term Good evening Sea Turtles. I just wanted to say well done for a all the learning that you have done this term. I have a few pictures to share from recent days, but if you have any more that we can celebrate ask your parents to send it in.
