Wallabies term 4 week 4

Children in Wallaby class have enjoyed reading a new story this week called The evil pea and the beanstalk and enjoyed discussions around how it was similar and different to Jack and the Beanstalk. They went on to write simple sentences to describe the evil pea and enjoyed using the writing wizard app on the ipads to draw all the different fruit and veggies from the Supertato books. They enjoyed designing their own superheroes and thinking about what super powers they would have!

In maths this week, children sorted objects according different criteria such as shape, colour and size as well as coming up with their own criteria for sorting. Alongside this, they continued their work on doubles and used this knowledge to begin to explore odd and even numbers.

In RE, children in Wallaby class began thinking about the Easter story, the symbols of Easter and why it is so important to Christians. Children loved exploring a range of different musical instruments in music this week and how to play them. They had a go at singing the song Grand Ol’ Duke of York accompanied with their instruments! Their topic work on plants continued by looking at the features of plants and in PSHE children considered caring for our world.

Another busy, successful week! Well done Wallaby class
