Firstly, welcome to our new blog for 2023-24. We hope to share all the fantastic things we are learning in Bumblebees! Also welcome to our new families, we hope you enjoy looking at our news each week and pictures we share.

What a fantastic start to term we have had in Bumblebees! We have welcomed some new children to our class and we must say how incredibly proud we are of each of them for how well they have all settled into their new class and how welcoming our lovely older Bees have been. Well done superstars!

We have had lots of fun this week getting to know each other, our new layout in the classrooms and for some children new routines within the day. They have shown how resilient they are and have taken to changes fantastically.

For our youngest children they have enjoyed exploring different areas within the school, having lots of fun on bikes, playing in the sand, water and creating fantastic artwork using playdough, paint and stampers. They have learnt some new songs within class such as our hello song, sitting song and goodbye song. We have some brilliant movers and shakers. In addition to this it has been so wonderful to watch them get to know each other and build in confidence over the last two weeks, initiating play with each other and the grown ups too.

For our children returning this term we have been busy enjoying our new class story, 'The Bog Baby.' We have learnt to retell the beginning of the story and have even written our own. In math's this week they have blown us away with their understanding of number, adding more and partitioning numbers into tens and ones. In science we had great fun learning about micro-habitats and went on a hunt with magnifying glasses and ipads to find our own. Super work Bumblebees, keep it up!

Reading - In Read Write Inc sessions we have spent our week settling the children into their new groups and have began learning new sounds. We aim to ensure each child will bring home a reading book from Friday 22nd alongside a new reading diary. The book will link with the reading in their phonic sessions. Please ensure this is returned for the following Friday as this is our book change day. Please try to read with your child as often as you can and record any reading in their reading diary. (Please let us know if you need any support with this).Thank you. For our youngest Bumblebees, we will also be sending home a reading record, it would be fantastic if any family reading is written in there and if they have enjoyed the book as it is always good to know what your children enjoy reading.

Important information:

PE - This will be on a Monday and a Wednesday. Please can you send your child into school on these days wearing their PE kit.

Thank you so much for your continued support, have a wonderful weekend.
