Friday 23rd June

Wow! What a productive, fun week we have had in Bees class!

In Reception  the children enjoyed listening to the story, ‘Commotion in the ocean,' and had lots of fun exploring beach related learning in their environment. This was finished for some children with a trip to the beach on Thursday. The children had a wonderful time, meeting lifeguards, splashing in the ocean, making sandcastles and eating ice cream.

In Year 1 the children have been busy learning the days of the week and the months of the year and placing these in order. We also kicked off our new topic 'The Great Fire of London.' The children were very interested in this event and remembered so much information. The children even linked their knowledge of houses and what they had seen on their trip to Lacock Abbey to help them understand how the fire may have spread, well done Year 1s.

In Year 2 the children have been looking at volume and capacity in math's. The children began with the most amazing lesson which involved filing and emptying containers with water! They didn’t get too soggy and had a great time. They then moved on to looking at ordering different containers according to how much the hold. Sometimes we were tricked by the shape of them and they didn’t hold as much as we thought! The children also had a fantastic time on their trip to Haynes Motor Museum on Thursday, they were so keen to learn about the different cars throughout time and a great day was had by all!

Well done Bees, another super week, you are superstars!
