Friday 6th October

We have had a busy, fun filled week in Bumblebee class!

Our older children have worked hard to further develop their understanding of addition this week in math's and started a brand new story called Lila and the Secret of Rain in their writing sessions. They enjoyed reading the story and then looking and why Lila is such an important character, the children listened well and enjoyed discussions. They had really thoughtful answers to questions about the characters. In addition to this a new artist was introduced to the children called Alexander Calder, he is a sculptor. We discussed what we like and dislike about his work and learnt about what a sculpture is.

For our younger learners this week we focused on all things Three Little Pigs. The children learnt the story, made pigs and wolves and had great fun creating houses for each of the pigs. We have also starting introducing the children to phonics, focusing on a picture that represents a sound. They have enjoyed this, particularly watching videos including the characters Elly and Fred.

On Wednesday the children had an exciting day either visiting Westonbirt Arboretum or visiting Little City. We were very proud of how well the children engaged with the activities and how well behaved they all were, we really hope they enjoyed their experiences.

Well done to all the children for having such a super week and to all of the parents for your support.

To note:

Our newest/youngest children - Miss Hackeson will be sending out links to the sounds we have learnt/will be learning this week so keep an eye on your inbox.

Wednesday 11th - Year 1/2 children who are able to will walk to All Saints church to take part in our Harvest Celebration in the afternoon. As noted in the letter, our Reception children's parents will be invited to the Easter celebration.
