Friday 8th December

We have had a busy week in Bumblebees this week.

Our older children have been busy practicing their Christmas play performance and have made us very proud of how well they have listened and learned where to sit, when to sing and done this with such smiles on their faces, well done!

In math's this week the children have looked at repeated patterns and linked this in with their shape work from last week making fantastic repeated patterns with shapes they know.

In literacy this week we have continued our learning about penguins and looked at what makes a good set of instructions. We now know that an instruction must have a 'bossy verb,' so the reader knows what to do, they also now know instructions must be in order. We will use this knowledge to write instructions for a penguin so he knows how to keep the egg warm for the mother.

Our younger learners have had a fantastically Christmassy week with their focus text being Dear Santa. After reading the story we then made Christmas play dough, set up an elf packing station where the children enjoyed helping elves to pack presents and made repeated pattern wrapping paper of their own. In addition to this they enjoyed a morning of learning with Mel from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust on Wednesday. The children had great fun making gingerbread houses for Santa, making jingle bells, apple bird feeders, searching for bugs to feed different animals and spent lots of time in the hammock.

Well done Bees, have a fantastic weekend.
