Friday 9th February

It has been another busy week in Bumblebees!

On Monday, we enjoyed making lanterns and medals with our parents to celebrate the end of our 'Nurturing Nurses' topic.  The children were asked to decide who to give their medal to - Florence Nightingale or Mary Seacole.  It was interesting to hear their answers and we had some children who decided they would like to give it to both because 'they were both important'.

In our English lessons this week, we have been looking at recount writing.  We found out that recounts are written in the past tense, use time connectives and are written in chronological order.  The children have worked together to identify these features in a recount and have then had a go at writing their own recounts about the visitor from the Trowbridge Museum.

In computing this week, we have been debugging our algorithms.  The children had to write an algorithm to move the Beebot around the park that they had designed and stop at two destinations.  They worked together to write an algorithm, tested it to check that it worked and then fixed any of the problems.   They were a great team and debugged their algorithms quickly - well done Bumblebees!

We hope you all have a lovely half term!
