Graphs and Tennis

It is hard to believe that we are almost at the end of term. The children have excelled this term and have really flourished in all areas of the curriculum, especially all of their knowledge about plants for our topic.

It has been wonderful to see the children really embrace the topics this term and really enjoyed growing their cress seeds and sunflowers. If you have managed to plant them, please do send in a photo so we can share with the class.

In English this week, we are beginning to write the sequel to the story of Goldilocks. Our main character is going to have to fix the problems that she has made. It’s going to be great fun. We have done lots of acting and made our own story mountains. We acted out the story and had to work out how to sort everything out!

For our Maths this week, The Year 1 children have been revising their addition and subtraction calculations and the Year 2 children looked at statistics, this was making bar graphs, pictograms and interpreting data.

In PE we have been continuing tennis and using our forehand and backhand skills to return the ball to our partner.

We finish for the Easter break on Thursday and return on Tuesday 15th April. Thursday is non-uniform day in exchange for a £1 donation.

Next week…

  • Monday – Parent Event 2.30pm
  • Tuesday – Year 2 scootability
  • Thursday – Mrs Millard in class
  • Thursday – Easter Egg Hunt and last day of term
