Honeybees Friday 22nd March

This week in Honeybee Class we have been focusing really closely on what it means to be a good friend. The children have spent lots of time in small groups, or with a pair improving their sharing skills, turn taking and playing cooperatively. The children enjoyed working together to collect and transport water to different areas outside, shared equipment to improve their fine motor skills, played ball games and board games and had great fun in Bucket sessions waiting their turn to splat flowers and hide under blankets. They have played beautifully together with a range of toys which has been just wonderful to watch. We are really proud of the kindness we are seeing as they start to help each other and work as a team, well done Honeybees!

In English this week we have shared a variety of stories. Our focus has been encouraging the children to answer simple questions about the texts such as the characters name, what the character does and what they think may happen next. The children listened well and enjoyed the stories so much some of our Honeybees asked to take the stories home.

In math's we have focused on subtraction. The children worked practically to take one or more away from a given number to 20. They used their careful counting skills to check their total before taking one away to find a new total. They spotted they had to count carefully in order to find the correct new total.

Well done Honeybees, we are so proud of you all!

We finish for the Easter break on Thursday and return on Tuesday 15th April. Thursday is non-uniform day in exchange for a £1 donation.
