Lacock Trip for Glow Worms

This week, we started our new topic of The Great Fire of London!

We looked at how, where and when the fire started by looking at different sources and then we looked at the events of the fire and then ordered them to check our understanding.
We especially enjoyed our trip to Lacock where we looked at the different buildings, what materials were used to build them and similarities and differences between them and those we live in today. Lots of the houses were built using timber frames and the Abbey itself is over 800 years old crafted from stone.

In maths, the children have been learning about time. We thought about using 'before' and 'after' to think about a sequence of events and then named the days of the week and months of the year using the following songs.

In computing, we recognised what data meant, and collected our own data or our favourite colours and favourite fruits. Then, we made a tally of animals in a zoo.

It has been a fantastic week of exciting learning that will continue in the coming weeks.

NOTE:

Mrs Watts will be taking Glow Worm class on Wednesday morning, with Miss McMillan returning for the afternoon.
