Tuesday 23rd March- Gingerbread

Hello everyone!

What a fantastic, fun-filled day we have had. We have started our new DT unit (cooking) and have been thinking about how to make gingerbread. Did you know that in the Victorian era, the Victorians used to make gingerbread decorations to hang on their Christmas trees?

Today, we had lots of fun making our own gingerbread dough, ready to make some delicious gingerbread people later in the week. Mrs Maloney helped us to weigh out the ingredients and make a fantastic mixture. We also used salt dough to practise some important dough skills, such as pushing, rolling, cutting, moulding and flattening. Our hands certainly got a bit sticky.

Have a look at the photos below which capture some of us making our gingerbread dough.
