It was lovely to meet so many of you for parents' evening this week. If you were unable to attend, please email me with your availability so we can meet soon.

At parents' evening I gave out a set of Set 1 sound cards for the children to use at home. As they already know many sounds they can also make simple words and use 'Fred talk' before reading the word. Please ensure the children say the sound correctly for each letter. As promised, below is an example of how they should say them.

Don't forget that there is also a Read, Write, Inc blog where the children can view some 'Fred games' and review some Set 1 sounds.

During this past week the children have been using their senses outdoors in the sensory garden as well as in class. Looking at the photos below they now definitely know that not everything they taste is sweet!

We have also read the story 'Funnybones' and been talking about their bodies and the bones inside them. The children have talked about visits to hospital and what happens if we brake a bone. Our role play then turned into an A and E department where our young doctors were kept busy with a rush of many different injuries!
