Welcome to our new blog for 2025-26! We hope to share all the wonderful things we are learning about in Reception.

PE Days for Terms 1&2 are on a Tuesday and Thursday - Please remember to send your child to school in their PE kit.

Friday 19 December 2025 Friday 19th December 2025 What a fun-filled festive week we have had, with Christmas Jumper Day, Christmas Dinner Day and two Nativity performances.

Friday 12 December 2025 Friday 12th December 2025 The children have had a wonderful time taking part in some exciting Message Centre activities over the past week. After enjoying the story The Jolly Christmas Postman, they decided they wanted to create their own mail for the Jolly Postman and eagerly set to work making cards and messages. Later in the week, we shared the story Dear Santa, which led to a very special surprise—a mysterious parcel delivered straight to our classroom! The children had great fun guessing what might be inside, sharing lots of imaginative ideas. There were big smiles all around when we discovered it was a brand-new postbox for the class, perfect for sending messages to friends and encouraging even more lovely mark-making and early writing. It's been a joyful, festive start to our learning!

Friday 3 October 2025 Friday 3rd October This week we have focused on our bodies and keeping healthy.— We enjoyed reading Funny Bones and talking about what we would do if we were skeletons and we have had lots of fun creating skeletons using bone biscuits and cotton buds.

Friday 12 September 2025 Friday 12th September 2025 Wow! We have had a fabulous first full week of school. The children are settling in really well and adjusting to the new full-time timetable. It has been a joy to watch new friendships forming, and there have been so many memorable moments where the children have shown off their skills during child-initiated play.

Friday 5 September 2025 Kangaroos Friday 5th September 2025 What super Kangaroos we have! The children have had a fantastic start to their school journey. They should feel really proud of themselves. They have all come in and settled well and are already getting used to some of the classroom routines. It has been lovely seeing them explore the classroom inside and out and beginning to form new friendships. They had great fun playing on the trim trail at playtime and all got on so well with their lunch in the hall. They carried their lunches like experts without any spillages!

They were captivated by the brave young pirates, the moonlit mission, and the clever twists in the story. The adventure sparked plenty of imagination, laughter, and lively discussion!

Friday 25 April 2025 Friday 25th April 2025 I can't believe we are entering the summer term! The children continue to amaze me with all that they are learning. It was great to welcome them back after the Easter Holidays and hear all about their break.
