17th March: Making Choices

We have recently begun a new unit in PSHE on Making Choices.  Today, we talked about how in life, we can’t always choose what happens, but we can choose how we respond.  If we choose to respond in a positive way, we will feel better.  Likewise, if we choose to respond in a negative way, we feel bad.  

We imagined if a child in the playground called us a mean name and pushed us that we would have a choice to respond... what would or could do?  The children came up with lots of ideas and we were able to talk through the best solutions to such problems.  

Good choices also include healthy choices.  What might happen if we chose to stay in bed all day, every day?  Again, some very interesting responses.

We all agree that making good choices helps us to stay happy, healthy and safe!
