A Wonderful Year nearly complete
Well done Panda Class for completing your penultimate week in Panda Class. It has been a super year teaching you all, with your wonderfully unique personalities. As a Class, Panda Class have learnt to be brave, resilient, determined, proud, to give things a go and to never give up. When it's been tough we have said ' I can do this' or I've got this'. We are learning that we are all different and that we all have different needs and find some parts of learning more challenging than others at times. But we know that if we keep trying even when we make mistakes we will get better and we will improve so we should never give up!
Everybody in class is now able to skip on the spot at least 5 times. Our final medal we awarded today! Now the majority can skip 50+ and are challenging themselves to skip forwards, backwards, super fast skips, hop skip, crossover skip, squat skip.... the variety is endless but the determination and sense of achievement they have shown has been amazing.
In English this week the children have enjoyed creating freeze frames of different parts of the story 'The Building Boy', creating models of the characters from Lego, making moving books, writing stories and creating a story board from a different characters perspective. It has been wonderful to see how imaginative the children can be when they are given the time and space to be creative.
In maths we have been refreshing all of the learning we have done over the year, reminding ourselves how to add or subtract 2 two digit numbers, crossing or not crossing the tens. It has been quite tricky for some to remember the steps but again with practice and using the step by step approach it has helped us to remember how to do it. So great job Panda Class!
A few reminders. Please return ALL reading books and library books to school on Monday if you forgot to do so today. It is really important that all of the reading scheme books are returned as they are expensive to replace and we need them for the next group of children. Thankyou
On Monday is our final parent event. We would love to see as many of you there as possible. It will begin at 2.30pm in the classroom.
Year 2 parents. It is the children's leavers assembly on Thursday 2 PM. Have a tissue ready!
From all of Panda Class team we wish you all a very happy and enjoyable summer holiday. Thank you for being such a wonderful Class. We wish all of our year 2's the very best as they move up to year 3 and we look forward to seeing our lovely year 1s next year.
