Another Hot Week!!
It has been another very hot week but the children have been coping really well, drinking lots of water, wearing their sunhats and keeping to the shady areas when outside. I can’t believe we are coming to the end of the school year and what a wonderful one it has been. It has been amazing watching your little ones grow over the course of the year and we will miss them so much.
We have had another brilliant week in Wallaby Class. This week in Drawing Club, we have been reading the story ‘Someone Swallowed Stanley’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF1-ZTRydlM
The children had to draw Stanley, think about the setting and draw their own adventure. They have really enjoyed this story. In Maths, we have been playing Maths games which have included ‘bonds of 5’ and ‘double boards’. The children have had different partners and enjoyed playing against each other to see who wins. Wallabies have also been using the words ‘First, Then, Next and Finally’ to describe a journey. They had to work with a partner, each going on a walk and then describing their partners route using the correct language. They all worked so well together.
In topic, we have been looking at what seaside holidays were like in the past compared with holidays today. The children were amazed at the swimming outfits worn and were fascinated by the bathing machines that were wheeled into the water by horses. In poetry basket, we have been learning the poem Seashells and have learnt the ‘Suncream Song’.
Next week
Please ensure sun hats are in school each day if you have one at home and please apply suncream before school.
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week.
