Changing Materials

This week, the children have been exploring some of the different properties of materials. They have been finding out whether materials can bend, squash, twist or stretch.

The children discovered that rubber , dough and sponge are very malleable, whilst wood and certain types of metal are more rigid and less flexible. The children enjoyed using their investigative skills and they will build upon these in next week's topic sessions as they will be testing the best and worst materials for making a car tyre. They will use their scientific reasoning skills to then explain why.
