Christmas has arrived!
It’s feeling very festive in Giraffe Class! The children have been having so much fun singing and dancing along to the holiday songs, and their excitement has been absolutely infectious.
This week, we’ve returned to ‘Drawing Club,’ where the children have been exploring the adventures of ‘Pingu’ the penguin. They watched the animation 002 Pingu Helps With Incubating - YouTube and then got busy creating some fantastic drawings and stories. It’s been wonderful to see them using their imagination and showing off their writing skills as they brought Pingu’s adventures to life.
In Maths, the children spent the week revisiting everything we’ve learned this term. They enjoyed a mix of activities, including some Christmas-themed challenges, counting games, and festive puzzles, all while strengthening their skills and having lots of fun.
To finish off our topic on ‘Weather,’ the children have been practicing as weather forecasters. They’ve been using the correct words to describe weather patterns and temperatures, and some even got to present with a microphone—just like real TV presenters! It’s been lovely to see them so confident and proud of their work.
Last week, we were incredibly lucky to have a visit from Sarah and her Jazz band. The children had a great time listening to how the different instruments were played. This followed on from us having a great time practising our rhythm through chair drumming!
We also had a very special week performing a dress rehearsal for some classes at Westbury Junior School. The costumes looked amazing—thank you so much for helping with those! The children’s smiles and energy while singing, dancing, and performing were absolutely contagious, and it really put everyone in the Christmas spirit. For those who joined us this morning, I’m sure you’ll agree how wonderful it was to see them having such a great time. And for anyone coming on Monday—you’re in for a real treat!
