End of Term!
Wow! The end of the first term already. It has flown by and the children have absolutely embraced everything about being in Giraffe Class. They all deserve a rest after the hard work they have put in already.
This week has been about finishing off. We have just completed our last ‘Drawing Club’ with Billy and the Beast. You can find a link to the story here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZZAq_o4nxE . From this we have been looking at adding ‘s’ to words to make more than one and letting our imagination run wild with all of our drawings.
In Maths we have completed our addition and subtraction work, looking at making fact families and subtraction, knowing that the whole gets smaller. The children have been practising how to record the calculations using the correct symbols.
The children have finished their Andy Goldsworthy work looking at how he uses colour, pattern and shape to create his sculptures. They have really enjoyed experimenting with their natural objects to create their own ‘Land Art’.
After the holiday we start a new topic on ‘Remembrance’ and the Knowledge Organiser will be coming home with the children.
To finish off the week, the children walked to church and I think you will agree sang beautifully and recited their poem really clearly. Thank you for everyone who came along.
Lastly, a huge thank you for all of your support this term. The children would not be where they are without your encouragement. Have a super holiday and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 3rd November.
