Feeling Christmassy!
We are starting to feel very festive in Wallaby Class. Our role play has turned into a Christmas wrapping station and the children have all been enjoying wrapping presents to give to their friends. We have Christmas lights, a post office with Christmas cards and stamps and festive hats for the children to wear.
This week we have been starting to learn songs for our Nativity Play, I have been really impressed with how hard Wallabies have been working, we have introduced them to the stage, where they need to stand and getting on and off the stage safely. Well done Wallabies! This week the children have been making their reindeer food and they each made a Christmas wish which they really loved doing. They’ve also been cutting different things out of a toy catalogue and sticking them onto a stocking.
We have been reading the Gruffalo’s birthday and thinking about how we celebrate our own birthdays. In message centre, we have been writing messages to our own classroom elf who the children have named Merry Sparkles! In maths, we have been looking at how numbers are made up of different parts and we have used numicon to help us with this new concept.
On Friday afternoon, we went into the hall to listen to the musician Sarah Scutt.
Have a lovely weekend and see you all next week.
