Fire, Fire!
We have continued this week with all of our wonderful work on the Great Fire of London. The children have written the most amazing fact files about each day and this has really helped us to think about the events that have happened. These are incredibly detailed and really show the children’s understanding.
During our maths sessions we have moved on to look at weighing with scales. The children have been finding objects and using cubes to make the scales balance. Then we moved on to looking at grams and kilograms and the type of objects we would weigh using these weights.
The Year 2 children have been to visit their Junior school and they came back with some wonderful tales to tell and how excited they are to be going. While they were gone we turned into firefighters and attempted to put out fires using water squirters! Then we had a fab time making music with equipment we could find around our classroom.
The week finished off with the colour run. This was the most fantastic event for everyone and we all really enjoyed running around the Trim Trail with our friends.
