Flowers and Mass for Glow Worms

This week has been very practical for Glow Worm class.

We started the week with our Mother's Day assembly. We hope you liked it. The children loved singing and making their portraits.

In maths, we have been focusing on mass. We used balancing scales to see which objects were heavier and lighter. Then, we measured mass using cubes, before comparing the mass of different objects.

To continue our science, the children began by comparing plants. We had flowers to observe and talk about, comparing their colours, stems, leaves and size. In the next lesson, the children learned about deciduous and evergreen trees. They recognised what they were and how the leaves told us what type of tree they were. Next, the children identified the parts of a tree and flower. They labelled the parts of a tree and then they made a flower, using different materials. They did an amazing job of making their flowers- as you can see!

In PE, we continued turning and jumping by rolling along a bench, practising our rolls on a mat and completing turn jumps from a low height.

To end the week, we visited All Saints church for our Easter service. Thank you to the parent helpers who volunteered their time to help walk the children to church.
