Westbury Infant School and Resource Base

Friday 13th May

Our Reception children have been busy being superheroes this week after reading the story 'Supertato'.  They made capes and masks and then had to use their super powers to solve problems.  They also had fun making their own 'super vegetables'; adding googly eyes, capes and masks to vegetable of their choice.

On Friday our Year One children went back in time and visited the Victorian school at Sevington.  During the day they  got the opportunity to write with slate as well as with ink and ink pens. The girls made lavender bags and did some polishing in the kitchen, whilst the boys took part in gardening and made bee's wax candles. We had a lovely Victorian lunch out in the garden area followed by some good old Victorian fun and games during playtime!  Please take a look at Glow Worms blog for pictures of the day.

Our Years Twos have started a new topic this week,  thinking about living animals. They were very lucky to have a variety of animals come in and visit them so they could really look closely at them and think about what they needed to stay alive. 

 

 The week ahead:

Monday - Year Two school trip to Charmouth.  Please remember to wear a school jumper and suitable footwear. You can also take home the fossils you find so please bring a bag to take them home in. Also remember it is a later return and we wont be back in school until 4pm.

Monday - Mrs Watts will be in class as Mr Mould is on the school trip
