Friday 14th October 2022

Another super busy week of learning for the Ladybird children. It was lovely to finish off the week with a visit to church to celebrate Harvest. A wonderful way to end the week with joyful singing!

Throughout the week in Maths Year 1 have been using part whole models to find two numbers that make a whole. Year 2 have been adding and taking away from 2 digit numbers. They have used Base 10 and 100 Squares to help them. All the children are working really hard on making sure their recorded numbers are neat and written the correct way round. Super work everyone!

In Art Year 1 have made some wonderful busts inspired by Augusta Savage. They used the techniques that they had practiced last week to create their sculptures. The children really concentrated on making sure the busts looked like them as Augusta Savage likes to make her own sculptures really realistic. 

In Geography Year 2 have been finding out about the 7 Continents. We learnt a very catchy song to help us to remember them. Careful as it will be going around in your head for ages! Mrs Macfarlane has been singing it in the car on her way to work all week!

NEXT WEEK - Mrs Macfarlane is on a course on Monday so there will be a supply teacher in, as well as Miss Linn and Mrs McVeigh.

Remember that Year 2 have their Parent's Event on Monday and Year 1 have theirs on Tuesday!
