Friday 20th June

It’s been a scorcher this week! It was such a shame that our planned trip to Lacock had to be cancelled due to the heat, but we’re already looking forward to rescheduling it on the 16th of July. Fingers crossed for cooler weather then!

In Drawing Club this week, we explored the words devoured, slurping, groceries, farewell, cautious, suddenly, search and unexpected.   The children had a fantastic time creating their own tea parties out of playdough, crafting vibrant tiger masks, experimenting with marble painting to make tiger patterns and weaving tiger stripes with great concentration and care.

Over in maths, we’ve been focusing on telling time, specifically on the half past hour. The children have been busy matching half past times to the correct clock faces, setting times on their own clocks, as well as reading and drawing half past times. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they master this important skill.

All in all, a busy, creative, and joyful week — despite the heat! We can’t wait for more adventures and learning ahead.
