Westbury Infant School and Resource Base

Friday 16th September

Another super busy week for us in Ladybird Class!

The Year One children have been busy using apparatus to make numbers 1-10, ordering numbers and finding one more.

In Science we have continued with our learning about animals. The children have even written their own riddles. Can you guess which animals they have described?

In Life Skills we thought about how we can be good listeners and why it is important to listen. The children worked in pairs to listen to each other and find out their partners favourite colour and animal, what they had for lunch and what kind of bedroom they have.

Year Two have been using the Base 10 to make 2 digit numbers. We have partitioned them in different ways and recorded these in pictures and numbers.

In Science we have written poems about plants. They are really lovely and the children really showed what they have learnt over the first few lessons.

In Life Skills the children have been thinking about feelings and how we all show them in different ways. It was lovely to hear the discussions about what makes us feel these different feelings.

All of the children have been showing our school values of , Respect, Friendship and Teamwork and  Excellence in everything they do. We are really proud of them!

Next week we have Bank Holiday on Monday as the country says a sad goodbye to The Queen.

On Tuesday a supply teacher will be taking Ladybird Class.

On Wednesday and Thursday Miss McMillan will be taking Ladybird Class.

Mrs Macfarlane will be in school in meetings, but she will make sure she pops in and says 'hello' to the children each day.

Mrs Macfarlane will be back in class on Friday.

Miss McVeigh, our wonderful class TA, will be in all week, so the children will have a familiar face each day.

Have a restful weekend!
