We have had a fun filled week in Dragonfly class this week. We have started our RWI sessions where the children learn a sound a day. If you would like to support the children to learn the sounds then why not check out the RWI blog by following the link below:

This week we looked at the story ‘Colour Monster’ and the children thought how the colours linked to different emotions. The children were set the challenge to make some of their own colour monsters using a variety of materials.

We took pictures of all members of Dragonfly class showing different feelings. Can you guess how we are feeling?

In our maths sessions this week the children have continued to work on their subitising skills. We are becoming more confident to recognise small amounts without counting. We played a getting to know you game by rolling a dice and then answering a question linked to the number rolled. We also played a version of connect four but by matching the dice patterns. We also practiced some number rhymes. This is one we practiced:

This week the children have had their first PE session in the hall which was lots of fun. The children played a range of games to help them practice stopping and travelling safely around the hall. Our PE sessions are on a Tuesday and we would be grateful if the children could come to school in their PE kits on this day.
The children have enjoyed playtimes on the trim trail. We have seen lots of friendship, teamwork and determination to learn new skills. It is a joy to see the children having fun.
