It has been a really busy week and the children have really thrown themselves into the learning!

Year One have been using number lines to add or subtract 1 or 2. They even had a go at making their own! They completed their History topic and wowed us with how much 'sticky knowledge' they had about the life and achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel! They loved sharing all the details of the SS Great Britain from last week's visit. It has certainly brought their learning to life!

Year Two have been using all the different methods they have been learning to work out subtraction and addition number problems. It has been tough at times but they have kept going and shown great resilience. The children have also finished learning about Thomas Gainsborough by completing their own portraits. They mixed all the colours they needed using the primary colours. It was fabulous to see them so focused, well done Year 2!

This week our story has been I'm in Charge by Jeanne Willis. We have really enjoyed this one as it gave us a chance to talk about listening and being kind.

Next week Mrs Macfarlane is out of class Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We will have a supply teacher for those days. Miss McVeigh will be in class each day as well.

Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week for more fabulous learning!
