Friday 21st November
What a lovely week we've had in Bumblebee Class!
The children have been very busy in Music, creating their own musical instruments. Some have made maracas, some have designed guitars, others have crafted drums, and a few even created amazing combination instruments with features of all three! Next week, we will be using our instruments to play along and accompany a known piece of music.
In Drawing Club, we have been reading the story Monkey Puzzle. We have drawn pictures of the baby monkey and the forest where he lives. We have also thought carefully about where Mummy Monkey might be hiding and come up with our own ideas to help the baby monkey find her.
Our star words this week were:
⭐ curious
⭐ anxious
⭐ enormous
⭐ confused
⭐ relieved
⭐ gentle
In Maths, some of us have been representing numbers in lots of different ways using a range of equipment. Others have been comparing numbers using the inequality symbols.
In Science, we have been learning about how we can keep ourselves healthy. We talked about the foods we eat and created our own healthy plates of food using playdough. We also explored the impact that exercise has on our bodies by trying out different activities, taking our pulse, and noticing changes in our breathing and temperature. We found that the more strenuous the activity, the quicker our pulse and breathing became—and the hotter we felt!
We also discussed the importance of keeping ourselves clean. To help us understand how germs spread, we used glitter to demonstrate how easily they move from person to person. We then talked about why washing our hands is so important and practised the most effective way to do it.
We are so proud of all the children’s hard work this week and can’t wait for more exciting learning ahead!
