Friday 30th September
On Monday the children had lots of fun taking part in the Discothon. There were lots of opportunities to dance and be active which the children loved. Thank you for all the donations.
Tuesday the children continued with their PE sessions enjoying practicing their footwork and balancing skills. Each week the children are challenging themselves to balance on one leg for longer periods of time.
Dragonflies PE 30th Sept
This week as part of our topic sessions, we have been learning about people who help us and finding out about different jobs in the community. The children enjoyed mark making creating pictures of people who help us. As the children drew they also shared what they knew about different job roles.
Our phonics lessons are progressing and this week we focused on the sounds, ‘o’, ‘c’, ‘k’, ‘u’ and ‘b’. If you would like to support your child with their phonics knowledge then please check out the RWI Blog. There are sound videos and Fred games for the children to watch.

In our Maths sessions, this week the children have been learning all about number 2. At the beginning of the week they watched the numberblocks episode introducing two. The children enjoyed collecting resources to create collections of two. At the end of the week the children had a go at creating two posters drawing two things and writing the number two.
Dragonflies Maths 30th Sept
On Friday the children had the chance to experience painting with powder paints. We went through the phrase, ‘dip it, dab it, mix it.’ The children enjoyed watching the powder changing into a liquid paint as the mixed the powder with water. The children have also used their construction skills to create a new police and fire station using the wooden blocks.
Dragonflies Creative 30th Sept
Next week we have our school trip on the 5th October. Please remember to send your child in non school uniform and with a back pack. We will be back at school ready for you to collect at 3.15. We are excited to go to an art gallery and create self portraits using different media.
A sign up sheet for parents evening will also be placed outside next week. Parents consultations will be on Tuesday 11th October and Wednesday 12th October.
